Designing for Little Humans
Designing for kids is different. Before joining PUPUPULA, our lead designer Asu spent his time designing furniture for adults. But when he started looking at things from a child's perspective, everything changed. He realised that while adults stay the same size, kids are in a constant state of flux.
To design for a child is to design for change. Their height, their likes, and their personalities evolve every day. However, we don't believe in temporary furniture. We believe your home should grow alongside your child.

Avoiding the Childish Trap
A common mistake is thinking that kids' furniture needs to look childish. We disagree. We think children deserve the same quality and style as the rest of the house.
We always ask one question during the design process: If a child starts using this at age three, will they still love it when they are ten? By keeping things simple and using real, solid wood like beech and oak, we make pieces that look great in a nursery but also fit perfectly in a modern living room. Good design is quiet. It works and stays out of the way so your child can focus on playing and learning.

Furniture with Memory Marks
Many of us have a piece of furniture from our own childhood that we still remember. Maybe it’s a small stool or a desk where the paint has faded, or there are a few scratches. Those marks aren't damage, they are memories.
We don't want to make disposable furniture that ends up in a landfill after two years. We want to make long-lasting pieces. When a desk or a bed lasts for a decade, it starts to carry what we call memory marks. The little marks left behind from a first drawing or a late night story become a record of your child growing up.

Quality over Convenience
Finding the right way to build these pieces wasn't easy. We spent over a year working to partner with various factories because we knew that quality is the only way to ensure long-lasting furniture. We wanted to make sure every piece was strong, and every finish was safe.
Designing for kids isn't just about making things smaller. It's about making things better. When we choose materials that last, we aren't just selling you a chair or a table. We are helping you hold onto the story of your family, one year at a time.

A New Way of Looking at Things
At the end of the day, children see the world differently. Designing for them has taught us to be more open and flexible. By making furniture that is simple, sturdy, and adaptable, we aren't just giving them a place to sit. We are giving them a space to explore. When we design for the small humans, we find the possibilities.
